Port and terminal weighbridge selection and maintenance guide, 3 key points to adapt to high salt spray environment

As the core hub of cross-border logistics and bulk material distribution, the weighbridge not only has to withstand the high-frequency crushing of super-heavy container vehicles, but also needs to resist the erosion of high salt spray and strong sea breeze, and there are exclusive requirements for selection and maintenance. Xuzhou Speyer combined the experience of port projects and summarized three core points.

1. Selection: give priority to high anti-corrosion and large-tonnage digital weighbridges

The tonnage of container trailers transported at the port is generally 180-200 tons, and some of them involve the transportation of hazardous chemicals, so the weighbridge needs to meet two core requirements: first, tonnage and structure, preferentially choose 200-240 tons of digital truck scales, the scale body is made of Q355 high-strength steel, the panel thickness is ≥ 12mm, and the main beam is a double-layer U-shaped section structure, which can withstand 70 tons of single-axle load and resist high-frequency impact of vehicles; The second is the anti-corrosion level, all metal parts need to be hot-dip galvanized + fluorocarbon paint double-layer anti-corrosion treatment, and the protection level of sensors and junction boxes is increased to IP68, which can cope with the long-term erosion of high salt spray environments, and the service life of the equipment can be extended to more than 10 years.

2. Installation: do a good job of foundation moisture proof and site reinforcement

The port is low-lying and prone to water accumulation, and the installation of weighbridges needs to focus on basic protection: with a weighbridge installed in a foundation pit, the bottom of the foundation pit needs to be designed with three layers of waterproofing and drainage blind ditch to prevent seawater backflow; For weighbridges installed without foundation pits, the foundation needs to be raised by more than 50cm, and wave baffles should be installed at the same time to avoid the impact of sand and gravel wrapped in sea breeze on the scale body. In addition, anti-collision piles should be set up around the weighbridge to prevent the container vehicle from hitting the scale body when reversing and ensuring the stability of the equipment structure.

3. Maintenance: Regularly do salt spray cleaning and component inspection

The port weighbridge needs to establish an exclusive maintenance ledger: rinse the salt and sea sand on the surface of the scale body with fresh water every week to avoid salt corrosion of the panel; Disassemble the junction box every month, replace the special moisture-proof desiccant, and check whether the sensor wiring is oxidized; Repair the anti-corrosion coating of the scale body every quarter, and calibrate the sensor with accuracy; Entrust a professional institution to conduct a comprehensive anti-corrosion test every year, replace aging sealing components in time, and ensure the stable operation of the equipment in a high salt spray environment.
